Folks say that mayo, eggs and olive oil make hair soft. Is this softness permanent after consistent treatment?

.... Or does it just fade away, and you have to keep adding that ';glop'; to your hair for the rest of your life. I have curly hair and its EXTREMELY dry (I'm a male by the way) How to keep it soft??!!??Folks say that mayo, eggs and olive oil make hair soft. Is this softness permanent after consistent treatment?
out of all three... olive oil is the easiest to wash out of hair. don't use mayo! it's so hard to get off the scalp! all of these are just temp. solutions. if you want something that lasts a little longer you can try a hot oil treatment like vo5. but i've found that the easiest thing to do is to put conditioner on dry hair and leave it for about 15-20 minutes before jumping in the shower. like mayo, egg, and oil the softness doesn't last long... but it's a quick solution that can be done everyday w/out harming your locks. hope this helps!Folks say that mayo, eggs and olive oil make hair soft.
